It’s that time of year again, when Lottie dusts off her PPE (personal protective equipment) and sets off on a Lottie tour! #LottieTour, now in it’s third year, is run alongside Tomorrow’s Engineers Week by our friends in the Women in Engineering Society (WES) and aims to highlight, in a fun and engaging way, the importance of girls pursuing careers in STEM.
#LottieTour takes place as part of Tomorrow’s Engineers Week 2018 which runs between 5- 9 November. This is the third time we've embarked on a Lottie Tour and this year's, organised by Engineering UK, looks set to be more exciting than ever! You can read about previous #LottieTour here.
#TEWeek, conducted by WES, aims to change the perceptions of engineering among young girls, their teachers, parents and friends by inspiring them to pursue careers in STEM fields. During the week, Lottie accompanies members of WES and the YMB (Young Members Board) to work where she is photographed in lots of interesting engineering settings and scenarios. The photographs are then uploaded to social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. You can view the photos by searching #LottieTour
By shipping dolls to a range of workplaces, #LottieTour2018 certainly gives girls plenty of opportunities to see future roles for themselves in the exciting and ever-changing world of engineering.
Our range of STEM dolls and accessories have been created to stimulate young imaginations and encourage curiosity - essential skills for budding engineers!
Many of our new dolls have been based on the ideas sent to us by imaginative and creative children from around the world as part of our ongoing toy design competition
