Choosing Kids’ Toys: Why the children in your life need a Lottie doll in theirs!
Do you ever find yourself buying toys for girls and boys that end up being little more than gimmicks, cheap novelty toys that are played with on the day that they’re bought and then never touched again? Do you worry about the environmental impact of some of the best-selling toys and games that may be this year’s hottest toy trends but that just add to the growing mountain of plastic trash? It’s time to discover Lottie. Lottie Dolls are super-cute companions - your child’s BFF! - for the entire adventure of childhood.
Lottie Dolls – 5 Reasons Why
Lottie Dolls...
…are representative of gender, ethnicity and ability
…promote outdoor play
…spark young imaginations
…encourage children to dream big
…look like children!
1. Would you like to see a range of toys that represents ALL children?
We have seven characters in our range of dolls and accessories to reflect a balanced mix of gender, ethnicity and ability. Mia the Wildlife Photographer was the world’s first doll with a cochlear implant. And our Loyal Companion playset – including a boy doll, Finn, and his cute toy dog - represents children with autism. Our dolls have a range of skin, hair and eye colours. At 7.5” in height, Lottie Dolls are perfectly portable making them a wonderful companion for children, wherever their childhood adventures take them.

2.Would you like to encourage your children to play outside more?
The benefits of outdoor play and regular physical activity for children are well-known and widely-reported. Many of our dolls and accessories – like our Autumn Leaves and Muddy Puddles dolls - are warmly dressed, ready to brave the elements. We have lots of dolls, play-sets and accessories to inspire your free-range kids, from fishing to body-boarding, from pony-riding to canoeing, from kite-flying to camping.

3.Would you like to buy toys from a company that understands the benefits of sparking children’s imaginations and encouraging curiosity?
In a world full of tech-based toys and prescriptive play, the deliberately low-tech toys in the Lottie Dolls’ range help stimulate young imaginations. Our first dolls’ house – or, more accurately, a tree-house for dolls – was carefully designed so that, in play, it can become whatever children want it to become. Our STEM toys for girls and boys – like our Fossil-Hunter, Stargazer and Robot Girl dolls and accessories – help open-up new worlds in STEM for children. (And our Always Artsy dolls add an A to make the difference between STEM and STEAM!)
4.Would you love your children to have the confidence to dream big dreams?
Did you know that many of our new dolls and accessories are based on the ideas sent to us by imaginative children for our monthly “Inspired by Real Kids” competitions? Let your creative kids get cracking and maybe your child could design the next Lottie doll. Precious moments spent in exploration and invention, in childhood, will lay the foundations for incredible achievements in adulthood. Our Stargazer doll spent 264 days on the International Space Station with ESA Astronaut Tim Peake proving that - with Lottie Dolls - the sky really is the limit!

5.Would you like to buy a doll that’s based on a child’s body proportions?
We live in a social media age with body image and self-esteem issues – especially for women and girls - often making the headlines. The bodies of many dolls are based on the proportions of an idealised and unrealistic 18-to-35-year-old woman complete with breasts, make-up and high-heels. Did you know that Lottie Dolls’ bodies are based on those of 9-year-old kids? And the message we’re sending out? Let kids be kids. Because childhood is precious. And childhood seems to be getting shorter than ever!
